The Businessman, adorned with a bandana over his eyes, embodies the age-old and profound duality that permeates the realms of success and power. He stands proud and solid, with his hands confidently resting in his pockets, grounded with his big feet in the reality of his presence, yet obscured in perception.
The bandana symbolizes the tension between what we choose to acknowledge and what we intentionally ignore — hinting at the hidden complexities of those navigating ambition and power. Much like Themis, the goddess of justice who wears a blindfold to signify impartiality, the Businessman evokes questions of true objectivity, challenging the viewer to consider the blindness that can accompany ambition.
In contemplating this sculpture, one is drawn into this duality — an invitation to reflect on one's own perspectives.
